AI-assisted payment application development
Spyglaas builds custom payment applications for businesses that have outgrown the big platforms. You keep the code, the data and the choice of who processes your payments — at a fraction of what the aggregators charge.
TRILIAN has spent years doing one thing for business clients: finding the payment solution that actually fits them, rather than the one a single provider happens to sell.
That work got harder as the large payment aggregation platforms took over. Stripe, Squarespace and Shopify made it easy to start accepting payments, and in doing so they made it very difficult to ever change how you accept them. The processing is welded to the platform. The merchant did not choose the processor, cannot see what it costs, and cannot move it.
What TRILIAN kept running into was this: business clients were not being given the opportunity to change their payment processing, because they were locked in to single providers who never offered them options. They were being kept captive. It happens constantly, across every industry we work in.
If the only way to change your processor is to rebuild your business on a different platform, you do not really have a choice. You have a landlord.
The lock-in, though, is also the opening. Building software has become dramatically cheaper and faster, which means a business can now develop an application for its own use instead of renting one from a large company. The economics have flipped. A custom application costs less over its life than the platform it replaces, and it hands the business back the two things the platform was holding: control and freedom.
That is what TRILIAN stands for. Spyglaas is the AI-assisted development practice we built to deliver it — the tooling and the team that turn that position into working payment applications our clients own outright.
The network behind the build
An application is only as independent as the payment relationships behind it. TRILIAN holds these, which is why a Spyglaas build can be pointed at the provider that actually suits your business.

The platform
Every application below was built by Spyglaas and runs on the TRILIAN processor network. Select one to see what it does and where it stands.
Events
A full ticketing and event platform built for organisations running events across many chapters. Attendees buy tickets, receive a QR code, and get event-day instructions in the same message. Built with Forum Journey, whose AI event tooling handles the coordination side.
Point of sale
An Android-based register developed for retailers whose inventory does not fit an off-the-shelf POS. Each build is shaped around the way that retailer actually tracks stock and rings up a sale, and it accepts payments through any of the 28 card processors in the TRILIAN network.
E-commerce
A WordPress e-commerce plugin written as a direct replacement for WooCommerce. The reason it exists is the checkout: it connects the store to TRILIAN's lower-cost processors and gateways instead of locking the merchant into whichever one the platform happens to resell.
Operations
An operations CRM for companies that would rather own their system than rent someone else's. Payments are not bolted on at the end; invoicing and collection live on the customer record itself. It is also offered white-label, so a company can resell it to its own clients under its own name.
Bookkeeping
Bookkeeping software for businesses that find the large accounting platforms heavier and more expensive than their actual needs. Invoicing and payment collection sit inside the ledger, so money received is reconciled where it was recorded rather than imported back in later.
Applications
Each one started as a client problem that no off-the-shelf product solved at a sane price.
How we build
AI does the heavy lifting on the parts of software that used to make custom development unaffordable. We do the parts that actually require judgement: the payment architecture, the compliance, and the decision about what not to build.
Before anyone writes code, TRILIAN reads your current statements and maps what your processing actually costs, which provider holds which piece, and what you are contractually able to move. Quite often this step alone pays for the project.
We will tell you when an existing product is the right answer. Custom software is worth building when the platform fee, the lock-in, or the workflow mismatch costs more than the build does. We put that comparison in writing before you commit.
Our development runs on AI-assisted tooling, which is the reason a custom application is now priced within reach of a mid-sized business. You see working software early and often rather than a specification document and a six-month silence.
This is the part most development shops get wrong. Your application is wired to a gateway and processor chosen for your business out of the 88 providers TRILIAN brokers — and built so that choice can change later without rebuilding the application.
With PandA Ventures we build, manage, maintain and host the application for you. If you would rather run it yourself, the code and the infrastructure are yours to take. That is the whole point.
Partners
Spyglaas builds in-house and with partners whose work makes the applications better than anything we would ship by ourselves.
Build, manage, maintain, host
Our development and infrastructure partner. Together we take a custom payment application the whole distance — from the first build through ongoing maintenance and hosting — so a client gets working software and someone accountable for keeping it running.
AI events — disrupt.spyglaas.com
Our partner on the ticketing and events platform. Forum Journey's AI event tooling handles coordination and day-of logistics, so a ticket buyer receives their instructions alongside their QR code instead of chasing an organiser for them. It runs live today on the DisruptHR Pittsburgh platform.
Parent company — payments
The independent payment brokerage Spyglaas grew out of. TRILIAN holds relationships with 88 providers across the payment stack — 28 card processors, 20 POS systems, 15 gateways, 8 hardware suppliers and more — and the list keeps growing. That network is what lets a Spyglaas application be wired to the right provider for your business rather than the only one on offer.
